Okay.. just got a 32GB SD Card for the 2011 Q7.....

i remember someone mentioned you can watch video off the SD if it's encoded correctly, can anyone help?

I would love to put lots of video/movies on the SD card... i already have VIM enabled.

what the requirement for video files on SD or HDD?

yes you can watch video off SD card im not sure the encoding but its play MP4 format.

i copied few MP4 movie files that I've ripped and they don't work.

they play fine on my iPhone, iPod and even other MP4 players but not in the Audi.
was told that I have to encode it under certain kps.....

i downloaded some video from youtube in mp4 format and it work fine for me

You must convert it to apple universal format in handbrake, the first option by the codec options on the right side. That works on my 2012 c7

No Go...

Getting error "No Playable File" error and it doesn't show anything files in that folder.

I was able to get the files on it but when plays, all I get is audio but no video

To me... Looks like video playback is not supported on SD card

What kind of SD card you got?? im using some class10 card and its work fine for me, also try to convert it to iphone format.
