Default 2019 theft deterrent keyfob motion timer

It was suggested on another thread that Audi had incorporated a motion sensor in the 2019 key fobs that would cause the fob to stop sending the signal after it sensed no motion for 5 minutes. This was to help deter thefts using the radio relay method that has recently become a thing for thieves. I just tested this theory with my 2019.

I placed the key fob next to the vehicle on a small step ladder so that the lock could get the signal (in other words, it would lock/unlock from where it was on the step ladder). I locked the Q7 and walked away, setting a timer for 6 minutes. When I came back the vehicle still unlocked w/o moving the fob. So either this feature does not exist, my fob is broken (unlikely since the vehicle was only bought in July), or the timer is more than 6 minutes.

I am assuming that the feature is not present.

FYI, I use this box now when the key is not in use:

Fob Box Fob Box

It is just a bit too short for the fob but works fine - I can set the fob in the box right on the door handle and it will not open. Bulkier than the RFID pouches but way more durable (the foil used in most pouches typically cracks with use and then stops working properly)
