2021 Q7 BOTH CENTER SCREENS FAILED
2021 Q7: Lost both the upper AND lower screens at the same time while driving. Both went blank. I reset the MMI by pressing and holding the volume button down and the system returned to normal after reboot. Anyone have this happen to them? Not a great feeling when both go dark.

Yes, it happened to me once and coincided with a software update. The updates install while driving and while navigating and do not give you the opportunity to postpone. My 2021 downloaded an update yesterday. The good news is that it only happened to me one time but yes, scary as hell.

Simple:
1) It triggers the fight or flight reflex when a portion of the car "dies" because you don't know the reason or severity. You know as well as I do that everything is tied together on some level.
2) Our new car that we just paid a small fortune for might have a serious issue
3) We might lose the car for a period while the dealer slowly diagnoses and repairs it
The fact that is it covered under warranty is the least of the concerns. If we wanted a new car that spends time getting repaired we could have bought an Aston or an Alpha.

Question was posted to see if others have had this happen---Thats all. NO KIDDING the car is under warranty. We all know that. If software updates can cause this, then it is good info that I was not aware of. No sense in flaming Whitewolf for his concerns when it happed to him.
