22" Issue?
As luck would have it we had dinner tonight and someone pulled up to the valet with a brand new 19 Q7 with the 22's and it looked amazing. When I asked how he liked his new Q7 he said he luved it BUT the 22's flat spot very easily even after sitting for just a few days. I told him we just ordered our 19 w/these yesterday and he said to call the dealer first thing in morning and get the 21's (he wished he could). I asked if he was on the forum and he said he's viewed but never registered, but may sign up
Anyone here have the 22's and experiencing this? The one we test drove last month did have pretty bad flat spots which went away after about 5 miles on the highway but we attributed it to only having 14 miles on the odo and just being built and sitting on the ship for weeks etc. But come to think of it most all our vehicles come from the EU and don’t have this issue, even the heavy S Classes.
Is flat spotting is an issue with these? I understand the sidewall height is a bit more than a half inch less - 285 35 22 vs 285 40 21 Thinking this may also have to do with the brand Hankook yet the are OEM on the SQ7’s? I realize we can change them out but would rather not on brand new tires and am wondering if the lower sidewall height is an issue for such a big vehicle?
My wife went along with me wanting the 22's even though it's her vehicle and I think I may call the dealership tomorrow and go back to the 21's....argh!
Thoughts?

Never Follows
We have 285/35/22 DWS06 on our XC90 and they’ve never flat spotted. My wife has 9k miles on her 17” so that’ll tell you how often it’s driven.
On another note you create A LOT of threads (25 in two months) in this forum. It may be best if you just create a running thread with all your questions.

I'm flattered [cough] you have taken such a peronal interest in the number of threads I post here, but you're not the thread Police. Creating a running thread is not very realistic here or on any other forum as many times people wont go back to answer if they already have (unless it's a very general thread like "2019 Q7" and even then off-shoots ALWAYS pop up, as they should). Activity via new threads (providing one is not starting a new thread with the same question/comments) is what keeps these forums active and fresh. In addition the advertisers that keep these forums going prefer lots of activity/new threads and in the end helps IB and others. When one is in the mkt for a new vehicle like me, usually means more topics/threads and I also in the Q8 forum.
Thanks for the info on the 22's..what brand of tires? BTW, the XC90 weighs 400-500 lbs less than the Q7, which makes a BIG difference.

Could very well be, i dont have any experience with Hankook's other than the test drive but I just checked them out on Tire Rack for the Q7 and the reviews are not very good. They appear to come as OEM on Explorer Platinums and low and behold flat spotting was an issue. I just saw there is a new version Evo 3 vs Evo 2..,maybe they made them better, but i doubt they'd be on the 2019 Q7's unitl Audi runs out of the V2 or 2020. Thanks.

Thanks...you'll feel a vibration for the first few miles of driving if the vehicle has sat idle for a few days or so.... i also wonder if the Q8 weighs less than the q7?

Never had flat spotting on the 21's even with the summer max performance F1's...i think the Q7 might be too heavy for the ultra low profiles on the 22's....be glad you have the 21's. I have requested my dealer change the order back to the non-bop 21's.
