only concern is that running on 35 was would not be to my liking, as I got used with the very soft and cushy ride I get from the current 285/45/21 setup.

any thoughts?

What's the offset on the wheel? There are people running 305s with no issues. I think the problem is that 295/40 is way too tall not too wide.

edit:
why not run 285/40 might be a little taller than the OEM diameter but it probably would still work.

I think I'd ultimately settle for a 285/40/22, I ride on 285/40/21 Pirelli Scorpion Winters as s my winter setup and is ok.
again, I'm bit biased towards 45,'cause comfort.
I'm not sure of the proper offset, but I can get any offset for the same price.

cheers,
Bob

If you go towards the first few pages of the thread there is someone running a 285/40/22 tire with no issues.

Was expecting the car to look more muscular. To me somehow sits lower than when I had it on 21s.

How much PSI do you run in your tires for 22"?

I went a bit low, 37.4 F, 37.7R, so less stiff. On 21s 40/41, per door instruction.

I would stick to 32 -35. As the air temp increases in the tire the pressure goes up quite a bit. You will be well over 40 within several miles of driving.
