Default 3.0 supercharge performance and MPG down after 4 years?

My MY17 3.0 Q7 is about 4.5 years with 27000 miles. Since about 6 months before, it had performance issue I can feel. Need hit gas deeper to accelerate. The highway MPG drop from 25 to 21 at 75mph and city MPG drop to 15 from 19 from the dash computer. Sent to dealership and got response that everything normal after reading the engine code. I had Audi care and all services done at dealership. No other issue found except the tire chucking/feathering issue which is common on Goodyear. I don’t think the performance issue to much relevant to the tires. Is it normal for the 3.0 supercharge engine? Or any previous thread discussed similar issue? Thanks

If your driving habits haven't changed, then would start with replacing your engine air filter. There is a DIY thread here, doesn't take long. Other reasons that are less likely are bad oxygen sensors (should not happen this soon but can happen without a code), spark plug misfire (usually generates a fault code) and clogged fuel injector(s).

thanks friend, replacing the engine air filter definitely worth trying. Per service guide below, Audi recommend to replace engine air filter every 60k mile? I assume dealer never replaced that on my car. Is this covered by standard Audicare?

Honestly, the intervals that Audi has for engine air filter change are strangely too long - it is a thicker filter to be sure, but I would change it out now. It's
not too expensive not too expensive
and it's not that hard to do: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-mkii-discussion-211/change-air-filter-3000494/. Others that have changed it at 30K interval mentioned that it was pretty dirty.

Following your advise and replaced the engine air filter. The old one looks pretty dirty. My 12 miles commute MPG go up to 21.5 from 19 per computer. Amazing!
I have Audi care and all service done at dealership. My service advisor said that the engine air should be replaced at 40k service but actually not from the date code of the old filter and service invoice.
Audi should update engine air interval to 20k-30k....
Thanks friend!

Wow glad to hear this made a huge difference. The filter is quite big but I am surprised to hear if Audi screwed up on this service interval.
Wouldn't be the first time they spec'd an expensive service (part at the dealer) at an interval that is too long. Look at diff and/or trans fluid intervals. LOL!

There is a link in my post #4 in this thread - just as functional yet quite a bit cheaper than the OEM:

That's just WAY too long. 60k replacement is ridiculous. 40k on RS7 and A8 only. I guess these 2 models experience less dirt in the air. Dumb.
