I have Scorpions on mine. After 5000 miles it sounded like my wheel bearings were shot. I am hoping to go a different route.

After 50k+ miles, I am looking to replace the tires on my mom's 2017 Q7.

They came with Goodyear run flats and she had no complaints about them.

Other than cost, would there be any other reason to consider going to something like a Continental DWS 06 in 275/45/20? Does it void the warranty?

Thanks

I just had the Conti's mounted as replacement of the Goodyears which had terrible chunking issues. After 1k miles, the Conti's are night-and-day better than the Goodyears although it's tough to say how they compare as the Goodyears had approx. 40k miles on them by the time I replaced them. The Conti's are not runflat and I believe the website indicated they're about 8 lbs lighter per tire, so there's that...

No. Tire doesn't affect warranty. But 50k+ miles your factory already expired.

Thanks, I meant if using a different size tire would affect the warranty, but I think it should be fine like you said.

Thanks for the info. I think if it was my car I would switch to the DWS 06, but since it's my mom's car I'll probably just buy the Goodyear runflats again.

Any advice on where to buy them? Audi sells them for about $200 less after rebates than Discount Tire, comes with road hazard coverage like at Discount Tire, but Discount Tire has free lifetime rotations/alignments. Would have to pay for rotations/alignments at Audi, but would be more convenient, and don't know if the Audi dealership will do a better job aligning them than Discount Tire though.

Thanks

I just got a loaner 2019 Q7 with pirelli run flats on it in 20" and they are pretty bad. not as bad as I remember the nearly bald goodyears to be.
but I am comparing to the DWS 06 in non run flat in 275/45/20 which is a night and day difference...

Would like folks to chime in on experience with 295/40/20 size actual experience. Brand and installer would be appreciated. Spring time will bring non RF finally to my 2017 Prestige. So loud now at about 22K, tread down to 3/32.

Hope you're not planning on running 3/32nds in the winter unless you are in Florida. I don't know if anyone has gone with a 295 tire. I believe that is out of MFG spec to mount on the OEM 20" wheels in terms of width.

Discount Tire installed Hankook Ventus ST 295/45/20 on my 2017 Prestige about 3 months ago. The tread is very wide and looks extremely good with no noticeable bulging of the sidewalls. The Hankooks seem to be the only 295/45/20 that actually states that they are recommended for the 9.5 inch rim. The ride is very good and quiet. Handling may be a tad softer than the Contis, but still feels confident on the twisty roads that I like. I've had the same tires on a ML550 and found them to wear and ride better than the Michelin Diamaris.

By the way, Audi is using the Hankooks as original equipment, now.
