For those of us that have to leave the Q7 outside, sometimes longer periods, what covers does everyone use?

My recommendation is to invest in a car port. The fabric / plastic cover is not a good solution, as it acts as sandpaper when your car is dirty and wind blows around, scratching the paint work all over. The cover is only used when you store the car inside for long term.

You should suggest buying a new home with a heated/cooled garage.

OP: Cover is fine. Cant recommend a specific brand but spend extra money on a better one. A cover can be strapped down so there is little to no movement. Unless there is sand being blown around it wont act like sand paper and securing it properly would prevent that anyway. I would buy one made specifically for your car so it fits better than a generic one.

The car port is not practical. Plan is to only use the cover on clean cars and for extended sitting of the car. Not daily. More of a rare occurrence.
