Thanks for this post...it makes me more committed to keeping my 2018 Q7 Prestige until it dies or I die. I've had no problems and as long as I keep out of the dealership so as not to see the shiny new "improved" models I'll be more than happy. I drove my 2001 A6 for 16 years and this Q7 seems to be better built than that by far.

I have a car with new MMI but with previous MIB2 and everything works without any problems.
Many car manufacturers have a problems with overheating a phone on a wireless chargers. If it comforts you, it is even worse in the new BMW X5/X6/X7. If you have an iPhone, check if you have the latest software version because Apple has released a new version that was to improve the phone's cooperation with car wireless chargers.
I had an X7 and never had an issue. I also have been part of the G05/G07 forums since the models were released and have read very few threads referring to any issues.

Phone getting too hot in a charging tray from Nov 2020? Lol ..really? That’s quite a stretch.

We went from a 99% problem-free 18 prestige to a new 21 Prestige. We had 3 incidents of the screens going blank - or rebooting by themselves right after delivery and one incident when it was below 20 degrees and some systems didn't work until the car was warmed up. Took to dealer and they did an update and we have had no issues since. Well - except occasionally the Bluetooth will cut out - but it's always on one street we drive down at the exact same spot...so we think we are passing by a building that has something in it that interferes with it.

Screens don't overly bother me...hate the finger prints, tho.

The MMI sucks, but more importantly, the previous generation design is much better.

my buddy is having this issue every time he passes down from Park City to SLC for work (when he needs to travel) with his new F-150. Wireless Apple Carplay freaks out and he's gotta completely disconnect the phone from the car and start over. He said it's frustrating to say the least.

Computer issues shouldn't be temperature related. Makes me worried since I drive tons of miles into frigid winter. Car regularly displays temps below -15F in Northern New England on many of our ski trips in the dead of winter.

Can you elaborate? Not being very descriptive. Thanks in advance.
