San Jose, Ca Audi dealership has gaslit us for year about this oil leak. They stated it's normal to have to add a quart of oil every few months. We spoke with a certified mechanic from Audi and server other high level mechanics for European cars and the ALL stated AUDI is full of it. This should never be happening on a new Audi, not even in the last 10 years.
What is your current mileage and what is the rate of your oil consumption? You are asked to add a quart of oil after how many miles?

Who is deleting what post? You're a brand new member here so just wondering as this thread has been ongoing and vibrant for a good long while.

Didn't even get a week out of this quart. I did tow the boat from Louisville to Buffalo, drove around there for a week, then drove home this afternoon. So, I got my mileage, just wish I would've gotten some more calendar days out of it. Had the roof rack on and towing the boat netted me ~14mpg or so. No roof rack and no boat on the way home and netted me closer to 24mpg. Also had the tires re-balanced at a better shop while I was up there, and it was NOTICEABLY smoother on the way home. Not much to do with oil consumption, but a neat anecdote.

Driving to the NC/VA border for Memorial Day. Another ~400mi one way trip over a weekend coming up. More miles for testing! Dad and Uncle have matching Solstice GXP's, I intend to chase them down the Blue Ridge Parkway and then the Tail of the Dragon in the Q7. We'll see how that works out. I fully expect to have my doors blown off, but maybe we'll be surprised. Youth and exuberance is on my side.....and at 44, that's saying something!

Have you replaced pcv valve? Your mileage is exactly where mine was then it burned through a valve on cylinder 1. I had high oil consumption prior to breakdown.

I have not replaced the PCV valve.

What was your consumption like before the failure?!?

I'm sure I'm jinxing myself, but I've never addressed the PCV valve. I'm not even sure what to look for! Truthfully the only off maintenance repair I've had is the water pump- at 75K or so.

If PCV fails this allows oil into the combustion chamber and causes carbon buildup and damage to exhaust valves and piston rings is what I understand.
