Default Auto high beams

Recently the auto high beams have stopped working on our 2017 q7 and is not even an option anymore. Not that I am a big fan of them as they are very sensitive at night and flash more than I like. Has anyone else had this issue as well, or was it part of an update? Or is it something that needs to be taken in for?

Thats odd. So you push the stalk back and you dont even see the white "Auto with light symbol" come on the VCD?

You may need to have the headlight switch set to "Auto" for auto high beams to work, and then push the headlight stalk forward once or twice. That's all I can think of.

That is correct, when pushing the stalk in or out, it’s not even an option anymore.

It's automatic. As long as you turn it on first. Just like night vision. It's on, once you turn it on. Why call it automatic if you need to turn it on every time you start the car?

I've had many cars with auto high beam. You set it to auto and forget it unless you want it off.

The point is a software glitch may have reset that option to "off" without realizing it, causing the problems. It's a free, 1 minute thing to check that could resolve the problem. Audis are notorious for reseting selection back to factory defaults randomly on their own, hence the good suggestion.

Thank you all for your help! For some reason the headlight assistant was not checked. It is working perfect now.

When or if the US get the matrix lights then this selection will be superfluous because their is no high or low beam. OP- another reason to post your location so readers know which options you may or may not be referring to.

Rumor has it that the new Lincoln Aviator will have some sort of matrix headlights.
