Default Compact spare tire for 2017 Q7?

Will the compact spare from 2019-Q8 work with the 2017 Q7 also?

Or is there a "native" one for the Q7 now (>= 4M / 2017) ?

The 2019 Q8 has a wheel diameter of 31" comparing to 30" for 2017 Q7. Since there is no space under the trunk floor to fit a spare wheel, I just either get the 21" full size wheel as a spare or go smaller size (20", 19") while keeping the overall diameter around 30".

The idea was to simply throw in the compact spare into the trunk, or onto a roof carrier, for long distance travel. Did not get the trailer hitch, otherwise could have used a suitable mount outside.

(I use a full-size spare with my MDX'en, and use a 5-way tire rotation procedure.)

The full size spare is what I have which I only carry in the trunk for long distance travel. The compact spare has limitation on speed and distance.

What htd said. I negotiated purchase (at well below cost) of a 5th OEM wheel when I took delivery of my 2019 3.0 Prestige, and then ordered a OEM Conti tire from tire rack. I just did a 5-wheel rotation--made easier with the lift in my garage--and will take the spare along with me to Anzo-Borrego tomorrow. When I'm in LA, and never far from AAA, the spare lives in the garage.
