Default Does a compact spare save weight over the stock Avus full-size spare? I'd like to save some weight

but I don't want to rely on a can of tire sealant in case I have a major blowout.

I'm thinking maybe I'll remove the full-size spare and substitute a compact spare. Any thoughts?

Think how much it will suck if you ever have to drive on the compact spare.

Bring a 12V compressor and a 12 oz. can of "Flat-Saver".

Yah, but it would only have to get me home so that I can swap on the full-size spare.

Default Doc & some other folks don't run spares. I'm looking for a cheaper option than getting SSR or

Kosei or some other lightweight but expensive wheel, which I don't need.

As I said, that's not going to help with a major blowout that can't be sealed with the flat saver.

I would get the Kosei wheel 17X8 15lbs $239 a wheel.

Default What if you're far away from home? I just don't think the weight savings

is worth the hassle, but that's just my opinion.

strap your spare into the passenger seat for better weight distribution ;-)
