2017 Q7 scored RF rotor (the squealing one)

I have seen MUCH more scoring on cars and not had any sound. My wife's grandfather didn't believe in having brakes done by anyone other than himself, and his theory was "Only change the pads"... the scoring would make the car stop better.... never caused him any problems... not sure how valid that is.
Anyway.. what does the back side of the rotor look like?

I noticed that after having washed the car including use of pressure washer on the wheels, the squealing has disappeared. Talked to my Audi service center about it today and they said that cleaning might help but even better is to go through the "bed-in" procedure now and then to restore the pad surface. They have received some complaints, Audi here claims the squealing is due to dirty roads (and salt). No fix in sight according to Audi over here. Please note my location, might be a different case for you.
