Default Electronic Shifter Is Causing Problems?

Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1.1 million cars because of weird electronic shift levers | The Verge

How do you guys feel about this recall? Is Audi next?

Not worried in the least bit. It's not like electronic shifters are a new thing. They've been around in many cars long before the new Q7.

The reason why Fiat/Chrysler are having issues is becuase it's a Fiat/Chrysler. 'nuf said lol

But do you feel opening the door without pressing the park button? I know it normally becomes a habit, but 41 incidents reported for Fiat/Chrysler makes me wonder why people does it though!

No because in an Audi, opening the driver's door automatically engages the parking brake unless your seat belt is on, which means you haven't left the car. Also, shutting off the engine automatically puts it into Park.
