I’ve been hearing a flapping or vibration noise under my Q7. When I took a look, the pipes that lead to the muffler vibrate and the noise seems to be from that.

I don’t have another Q7 to check.
Is the vibration of the pipes normal?

Not sure why the whole system is vibrating like that but definitely not normal.

Thx, I took it to the dealer this morning and showed them the video. His comments were it’s not normal and something may be loose, maybe after the last service.

It almost looks like the exhaust pipes are not secured to the engine at all. Besides vibration there is plenty of noise also abnormal for a fairly quiet vehicle.

Quick update to this thread is a cracked exhaust pipe just past the catalytic converter. Don’t know how I did it but the video shows what it sounds and looks like.....

Now I have to get it fixed.....

So did the new exhaust fix the problem or did it crack from so much movement? My car just started doing this as well 2017 with 50k miles.

Thank you! I found that shortly after posting. To bad I missed the warranty window by 2k miles. Now looking into an after market exhaust...

If you find an after market exhaust, please share it. I don't think anyone on this forum has been successful in finding one.

I also missed my warranty by a few thousand. The service manager managed to talk to Audi and got it covered even though it was out of warranty by a little. The Fidelity Extended Warranty did not cover it.
