So, I think I thought that there was an assist feature for lining up the hitch ball with the trailer coupler. Searched the mmi menus but couldn’t find it. Also checked the towing threads but also couldn’t find anything.

Have factory tow package with non-air suspension.

Does this feature exist or is it in my mind only?

There is a trailer view function. While you are in camera view either hit menu or the side menu button on your touchpad and a menu should pop up, then select “trailer view”. It’s in the same menu where you switch from graphical view to 360 camera view. Hope this helps.

I stopped by the dealer. They told me the feature doesn’t exist. 😒

I think you need to be in reverse for the trailer view option to show up in the camera options menu. Also I've noticed that the alignment of the orange guideline in the camera view is most accurate when the wheels are straight, not so accurate when wheels are turned.

Before I started backing up to the trailer, I plugged in one of those $11.00 7 pin to 4 pin converters into the plug in anticipation for towing... Turns out that the car was able to sense this (because it also has LEDs?) and it automatically turned on the trailer suspension mode and the trailer alignment feature. Oh... one more thing, I found that the car "sensed" and warned me that one of the trailer lights was burned out (not really... just hadn't plugged it in yet). Audi has some smarts in their computers.
