Not really, more like Q5, The screen within arms reach looks convenient, although it's never a good thing to move hvac buttons into a display, and that vent below screen looks out of place.
The more I look at our MMI, more I realize how far it is from driver, and it's distracting.

The new generation Touareg looks really fancy and has great resemblance to the Q7! Would be interesting to see how VW will price the Touareg relative to Audi's Q7.

Considering all the fancy tech on the Touareg, I'm wondering if we will see some major updates on the facelifted Q7, too. I can't imagine that VW/Audi is planning on giving the better tech to the Touareg for many years to come.

Its more in line with the upcoming Q8. Touareg wont' be available here in the US. Search You Tube and find tons of videos. It is really well done.

I’ve been told that the FL Q7 interior will be in line with the new A6/7 interior. I presume the grille and lights will also see similar treatments.

As nice as it looks, those pics still don't give me the same impression the Q7 does. I know looks/aesthetics are subjective, but there isn't a single angle on the Q7 that looks odd or out of place. It's looks tight and athletic when its parked and look from all the angles.

I can't say the same for the other Germans we own. There's always a bad angle or a bad body line that just ruins the overall look of the car.

While some parts of the Touareg interior look nice and a bit better than the Q7, the Q7 has been on the market for nearly two years now. At least 18 months. It would be silly to assume that all other VAG models stay "below" the Q7 or even the A8 with their tech and design until those two also get it.

While I have never been a fan of VWs and usually find the Audi counterpart to be more attractive, VW has to make their flagship SUV model somewhat decent and competitive to others in its class.

Is its platform the same as the Q7's? I know our cars share a platform with the Bentayga and those are the only two models that I know of that have that platform.

I believe the Atlas, Q7, Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus are all on the same platform. (maybe something else?)

Still not a 2018 Q7, more like a Q5 since it is only 2 rows of seats.,
BUT this is a nicely upgraded car. 4 Wheel Steering, Heads-up display, Trailer Assist (probably only in Europe), Air Suspension... these are all great features...
it is 7" shorter in length, wheelbase is 4" shorter,
noticed that the roofrack supports are more like Audi than VW.

Atlas isn't on the same platform I believe.
