The inline 6 is a great engine and the V8 that I had was remarkable. Build quality was so-so and a lot of value engineering. Little things like only the drivers side mirror had defrost. Those things drove me crazy especially for how much the GL560 cost. If you don’t get Designo leather you get leather that feels like elephant skin. Mercedes uses the cheapest leather out there unless you go designo. I’ll try and find a link to the supplier. It may outlast a softer leather but you don’t feel you’re in a lap of luxury. Audi actually uses northern calf and it’s the same leather (lux package) used on the Bentley. Just a tad thinner. Those are the things I appreciate. Another thing is that the GL is an American designed vehicle from the ground up. It was Mercedes first. And although it fits the American lifestyle (which is its key target) it is not an Autobahn designed vehicle and even with my GL doing over 80 was very sketchy. Anyway the GLS with the 550 and AMG fixing will look as good as the current gen. The GLS 450 will look the same. I honestly see nothing special about it and honestly think it got over hyped.

Based on the pics you posted, IMO the 2020 looks much, much better than the current model.. And I have never been a fan of the GLS..

So looking at the Q8 interior(which should be the new interior on the Q7 in 2020) compared to the new X5 and GLE 2020.
I wish that Audi had left the AC controls and such as physical buttons like the other 2 brands for the lower screen.
The GLE as someone mentioned does look like 2 large Ipads stuck together. At least Audi and BWM separated the two screens. The GLE does offer Augmented reality navigation that seems like a cool feature, but of course you have to pay extra for it and not sure how useful it will be.
I do like the way the X5 was setup, but no virtual cockpit available. so the main dials dont show a nice virtual google map experience like Audi can.
Current Q7 first:
Current Q8(future Q7 2020)
BWM X5(2019 new redesign)
Mercedez GLE 2020(brand new design)
