Default Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV/XL on Q7?

Has anyone been running Michelin Pilot Sport 4 'SUV' /XL tires on a Q7 3.0 with 4 wheel steering ? I'm about to change the stock GoodYear Eagle Sport Runflats which came with the car new after running them 39000 miles. They are on the tread markers and there's also huge chunks chipped out of them all over all 4 tires. I've never seen tires wear in that manner with previous vehicles although I have only owned sedans and sports cars in the past. I'm guessing it's something to do with the extra weight of an SUV together with the 4 wheel steering. I drive fairly conservative most of the time and I'm a little disappointed the OEM only lasted 39k. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! NB. Not really interested in feedback from Q5 or Q3 owners as the vehicle is lighter - thanks.

39k miles is pretty damn good actually. Perhaps I’m just used to performance summer tires lasting no more than 15-20k on many other past cars. But 39k sounds really good to me and I’d be happy if the pirelli all-seasons on our SQ7 lasted even half that many miles. Like you said, it’s a heavy performance-oriented suv with rear wheel steering, so I’m sure that factors in.

I would think the 4WS around town actually contributes to less tire wear. At speeds it’s essentially “crab walking” which is what destroys tires. Just my $0.02

I have to imagine michelin did their research. If it is anything like my A/S 3 + or the conti DWS 06 (I have conti on Q7 with good experience with wear so far), then they will be a great tire.

I would not hesitate on the michelin A/S 4

I was actually looking to replace my tires as well (don't have adaptive chassis) since Continentals that it came with only lasted 20k miles, and had an eye on those new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. Has pretty good thread wear rating.

I had them installed in April of this year. Perfectly satisfied with them to date. Quieter than the run flats, good in wet weather, have not noticed any wear issues, and I have a '17 with 4 wheel steering. I have put about 10K km on them.

anyone knows the difference between Michelin - Pilot Sport 4 SUV and Michelin - Pilot Sport All-Season 4. From Costco, sport 4 is summer tires & 20K warranty while the later, all season with 45k warranty.

OMG, I just put the Pilot Sport A/S 4 on my Q7 Prestige (285/45 R20), replacing the crappy Perilli run-flats. I know it's been said, but it is a NIGHT AND DAY difference. The Q7 is much more composed now, not jiggling over bumps in corners, not sounding like I have bad wheel bearings, and not banging on concrete road seams. Audi replaced the OEM RF Goodyear tires 2 years ago because of the chunking issue. I disliked the Perilli tires even when they were brand new (all of the above issues, except not that noisy). I was actually glad to switch to my winter tires for the season 3 months after getting the Perilli's! All of the tire attributes degraded rapidly, and the noise and handling were so bad that I replaced them after only 20K and with 4/32" of tread remaining. I just drove home today with the new tires and I am in heaven! Hopefully the Micheline's will hold up well and not get too loud with time, but they are already starting off at a much point than the Perilli's ever were.
