Default Prestge Heads up Display

Is it supposed to show the speed limits on the road while just driving, without actually using the navigation system? This is for the Prestige without Drivers Assistance Package. The options on the menu shoe "road signs" included.

In the US, the heads up display will show the traffic signs only when you have the optional Drivers Assistance Package.

I find the traffic sign recognition underwhelming. About 98% of the time it just says what the speed limit is, which you don't even need cameras to detect since many mapping services know the speed limits for different roads. The only other functionality I've seen is school zones, which is useful. I have yet to see a stop sign appear on the heads up display.

Yes, calling it "Traffic Sign Recognition" is more than a stretch. Its speed limit sign recognition, and school zones. Thats it

I don't have DAP but the see the speed limit displayed on the map but not on HUD. Does the DAP make it display on HUD?

I turned off the speed limit sign, which I found annoying.

and half the posters, inc OP, don't post their location so this thread is ambiguous. The EU traffic recognition works very well but other locations have issues.

You do not need to be using the nav for it to show.

It misses some signs (fairly consistently, the ones in my neighborhood) and in at least 1 case on my regular route fairly consistently picks up a sign it shouldn't (twisted off a side street).

Before I got the car I thought it was a stupid feature, but I actually like it, its handy to see right next to your speed, particularly when I have no clue what the speed is, or want to make sure I'm not speeding.
