PIcked-up my new q7 today, everything is fantastic, accept....

OMG the stereo suuuuucks. Primarily its the incredibly undefined bass, I don't think it breaks below 100Hz.

I know, I know, I should have tested first = but all of the Audis before this had decent sound, in some cases good sound (like the MKI base sounds system). I've got 40 miles on the car and I'm already pricing out upgrades. Also, it would not have tempted me into a P+, lots there that I don't want. So...

Sharing my research here. I'll try to upgrade the sub speaker first. Its a weird size 6.5 x 6.5 with less that 2" of depth. It's an inexpensive experiment.

Out of curiosity, which trim do you have?

His signature seems to indicate premium plus, but I might be wrong.

I think the Prestige trim comes with an upgraded Bose sound system, slotted between the base Audi sound and the 3D B&O system

For 2018 Premium has the standard sound system, P+ and Prestige have Bose, and Prestige lets you upgrade to B&O.

It looks like Premium has basic system, P+ has Bose 3D, Prestige has a slightly upgraded Bose 3D. Isn't that the case? I am considering prestige without B&O (just can't stomatch 5k) and I hope the sound system isn't bad at that price range.

Bose is the same in the P+ and Prestige.

Premium - sorry, correcting my Signature now.

Nope, no Bose either, Audi standard audio, and the worst standard sound from any Audi I've had before.

Honestly, even the Prestige Bose is not good. No EQ adjustment and the bass is weak and not punchy. The subwoofer is pretty much non-functional - turning it high just makes the bass muddy so I have it turned down. The Harman Kardon in BMWs is much better in terms of clarity.

I can't believe an upgraded sound system in a 70-80k car does not provide EQ.
