Default Q7 doors hard to close?

I have a 2018 Q7. It’s about 4-5 months old. In order to close the doors fully, we have to consciously slam them. Just the other day I got out of the front passenger door, gave it what I thought was a good-enough effort, only to return a hour later to notice the door was an ⅛ of an inch ajar. I don’t think the doors locked because of that.

Anyone else had had this Issue?

Any suggestions?

-Jeff

Yes, many complaints in the past, they get better or we get used to it over time, from time to time I still have the same issue.

Yes, when we first got the Q7 we had to get used to closing the doors a little harder than usual.. For years I've been telling my family not to slam the doors on our cars and here I am now telling them to close the doors harder..LOL

I had mentioned this to service while there to pick up touch up paint last year, and for what it's worth I was told that the doors take a little more effort to close because the Q7 is so air tight..

They're big, heavy German car doors. And that's a good thing.

While I agree with others that these are heavy doors and take getting used to, you shouldn't be having this issue 4 months in. Initially (for like a month), all my German car require learning the right amount of "slam", but once figured out, there's never an issue. The q was the same. Maybe your door needs adjusting? get it looked at

Don't all of the 2018 Q7's have soft close doors? I know I only have to barely close mine and they'll pull themselves shut.

2017 Luxury package required for soft close doors, 2018 Prestige standard.

I've found that the inside door pulls on both my A4 & Q7 is at an uncomfortable place to get good leverage to close the doors easily.

As others have said I felt that way at first but after a few months either they got easier or I adjusted, I don't notice it now.

Exactly, this is the main issue, so I started pulling the doors by the pocket, works better, still not a perfect solution.
I don't think it's the heavy doors that's causing the issue, it's the way latches are designed. There is too much slack between the seal latch and the safety latch. There could be other reasons like beefier padding/weather seal as well.
