Just got it, thank you! It does look slightly flared out. If you run your hand over from the fender panel down over that trim piece, is it flat? I'll have to take a picture of ours later at the same angle and show you for comparison.

2018 Prestige, That's exactly what happens. If your screen is hidden it will pop up automatically when you put the car in reverse. It will also pop up when you are answering phone (not sure why), I guess to keep the navigation visible?

My sales person told me the same thing, in regards to the backup camera regulations.

Well, I can def. tell that on my 2017 Q7, the display popps up in certain situations even when it's in the dash while driving. I'm pretty sure it popps out as soon as I press the P-button on the dash (located two buttons to the left of the screen-button).

I'm just guessing, but probably the time it takes to rise up and turn on didn't meet the new regs, so had to already be up so it could come on quicker.

Even though I wait the split second it takes for the screen to rise, I was thinking the same thing...

So happy that on my early 2018 prestige, the screen still retracts.. That's one of the nice thing i like about the Q is the ability to retract the center screen whenever i want..

Sad to see that they are already "decontenting" the car. How much can an LED in the door pocket cost?

Anyone know where to find the manufactured date? I can't find it in my owners manual... see the picture below.
