The Airstream dealership said:

You will probably need a weight distributing hitch. We carry two great brands called Equalizer and Blue Ox.

please advise on if any of these will work well with the Q7?
The Airstream dealer knows nothing about your vehicle. Open the Owners Manual Audi supplied you. Everything you need to know is in there.
As the Owners Manual states, a weight distributing hitch is not allowed and will invalidate your warranty.

The easiest type is wireless like the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Electric Brake Controller is pretty popular, but there are a few others. Otherwise you can have one wired in, but unless you do it yourself, it will probably cost more including labor. I have the Tekonsha and it works great.

What he means is that if you use WD hitch you are risking structural damage to your vehicle as it can't handle twisting forces of the WD hitch setup. There is a picture somewhere on this forum of what the WD did to the undercarriage of the Q5 after going over the speed bump, so NO, no WD EVER !!! You can use sway control setup, that would work.

It seems that specific design of the receiver attachment to the frame makes WDH unnecessary/not safe...? I also see that the manual definitively warns against using WDH. What about Anti-Sway bars? I went to the store where I bought the trailer (which I have not picked up yet as it is being prepared) and was presented with WDH and Anti-sway bars in one system. Is antisway bar also not recommended or we are talking about WDH only?
HI there, what is your towing experience so far? Having the same car, and planning to use a similar trailer...
