Rear Cross Traffic - Inadvertently Activated
Just recently happen to us over the weekend where we were backing out of our driveway and the rear cross traffic sensor inadvertently activated and stopped the car. Anyone have this happen to them? There was absolutely nothing behind us and caught us off guard.

Happened to me a couple of times backing out of the driveway. The first time it happened, I was quite startled by it and didn't have a chance to check if there was a car passing by on the street. Even if there was, I was not that close to the street yet and the car shouldn't have braked so abruptly. The second time there was absolutely nothing. I had no idea what set off the sensor. For a while after those two incidents, I was mindful that the car might suddenly brake on its own whenever I back up. Fortunately it hasn't happened for a while and I have forgotten about it until I read your post.

It happened to us a few times as well. It is not a perfect system, but it's better safe than sorry.
