Default Removal of 2nd Row Center Seat?

Has anyone tried to remove the 2nd row center seat?

The reason I ask is that I have two child carseats that are on the outside seats and would like to have easy access to the third row seats. On our previous car (Odyssey mini-van), the seats are easily removable this type of configuration worked out really well for us.

Default Did it! Love it!

Couple holes cut in the carpet and a couple plastic pieces sticking out but not fuguly. It has 4 tri-square bolts.

I will have to double check as there is that 1% that is unsure, but I think its a 2/3 split seat.

It's not a 2/3 split the middle seat is independent. Would be interested in removing this as well to make the middle row captain seats.

Yea a six seater option would be cool with captains chairs in the second row. I know the middle seat will hardly ever be used however it may look funny with no middle seat in the second row and the third row folded down.

My wife's highlander has captains chairs in the second row and we never have the third row up. If removal of the middle seat is possible installation of armrests in the outer seats would probably be needed to for passenger comfort.

Anybody out there have the service manual for the 2017 Q7? That would help to see what is involved.
