Roof top Cargo Boxes

Go classy, go Lo
Hellogents,
Just to put it out there, I was much pleased with the looks of the slimmer, longer Yakima Lo. IMHO, fits better and actually blends stylishly with the 7. We had before a Skybox 16, beautiful "more rounded" box.
it was just too big and "whaly" for the 7, so we went for the Lo. Fitted all the gear we needed. I think is 2 meters long.
Sorry my phone pics don't do justice to the set up, and dropped it already.
Hope that helps,
cheers,
Bob

Yes, these are long, but wider, hence I think they have comparable cubic volume. They look better as they "spread out" on the wider roof.My Lo was few pounds heavier than the 16!!
on my headmeter.
cheers,
Bob
PS: fellow 7ites, please just don't drop your other boxes now. Enough cargoboxfetishzms!

Thanks to everybody for their replies. I took advantage of the REI anniversary sale along with the local roof rack chain's match to get the roof rack and cargo box. I went to the Thule aerobars and the motion XT XL. Posted some pics... very happy with how straight forward it was to put on and take off.

You can estimate by using drag equation, noting that it is linearly proportional to increased area, but squared to velocity, so you can alway slow down to save gas, like in the 80s...
drag (i.e., fuel used) = drag_coeff * (Velocity squared) * Area
so, if box adds 10 percent to frontal Area (ignore like small increase drag_coeff), fuel mileage will decrease by 10 percent at best.
Solution to save money, instead of driving 70mph, drive:
70 * 70 * Area = x * x * Area * 1.1
x = sqrt(4454) = 67 mph
Q.E.D. enjoy your trip.
