Tire tread life?
#2
it seems to be 10-20k based on multiple discussions here in the forum, it doesn't seem that the brand of the tire makes much difference. if you get tires balanced and rotated; and get wheels aligned, you may get the higher range (20k).

Mine after 18k miles, 9/32 tread depth (from 11/32) new, no complaints, front and rear wearing the same, no feathering, no extra noise that I can hear.
Almost all highway miles, keep pressures on high side (35+), very happy. Just wish Goodyear could make a tire that holds air better, you need to keep an eye on them.

The manual has recommendations that vary depending on load, but I just run 35 on all four, wearing so evenly, I can't even justify rotating front to back.
Some peeps report front tire feathering, and even though no one is sure what causes it, I think higher front pressure would be better than not, IMO.

I’m at 38000 miles on the original Goodyear 20. I do rotate them about every 10K. I have had 2 tires patched due to nails.
I’ll be replacing them soon for the winter. Prob the same ones and Costco doesn’t stock them
The wheels do feather a little. I’m at 7/16 in the center thread but 5/16 at the outer right now. I think the featuring has more to do with tire pressure, I’m doing about 33psi in the front and 35. I’ve gone 36psi in the front and back to prevent feathering it was a rougher ride so I dialed the front ones down.
The lack of tpms is bad. They seem to lose pressure equally which contributes to the feathering, which defeats the Audi system. So I check often.
