Default 17's

Anyone running 17's with no issues? I've got 17 x 7.5 ET 35 (225 45) and they are rubbing on my early UrQs rear (non rolled) fenders over bumps on compression. Any other BTDTs out there?

Bilstein HD's and stock springs. Your 16's may not be as tall as my 17's but they sure are wider.

225 is alot of tire on a 7.5"

If you ran a narrower tire you wouldnt rub. However you should post pictures so that we can see where you are rubbing on.

Not so much, in fact it the stock cross section on a stock width rim for Ur S cars. I have less than .5 inch over hang each side of the tire past the rim. (you will find 225 recommended for anything from a 7-8.5 inch rim so 7.5 is right in the wheelhouse) maybe a narrower tire wouldn't rub, but that really doesn't help grip. A higher offset might help and a lower profile, just looking for some BTDTs on stock suspension.

Its hard to give proper advice without seeing what you are dealing with. Without pictures you will not get any other advice here.

However 225 is alot of meat for a 7.5 . im running a 215/40/16 on my 10" wide wheels. Thats a different story but you can easily get away with a 205 and still have plenty of tire.

No issues with my 17" Borbet Type t's (for the life of me I can't remember the demetions of the Yoke H4s ) but funny you bring this up. I just switched to my Ronal R8 8" with 205 60 R15's on them and sure enough they rub during hard compresion. Seem fine during normal driving but load up the turbo and dump the clutch and they rub. Anyone running a Roanl 8" on a non rolled 1983 Urq with no issues? Steve?
