84 ur quattro dash mod question

Look closely at the instruments...they are not of the 85 model year either..more like the 83.
Can't tell what the speedo goes to. I think the 83-84 goes to 140 whereas my 85 goes to 160.

The early cars go to 160 as well, but the car shown is Canadian, so it is in Km.
The pre '85 cars had white needled instruments with the checkered pattern at redline, 2 bar boost, and low temp. The '85+ cars with analog dashes have red needles on the gauges and no checker pattern. I think that the speedo cable connection is a quarter turn lock vs. screw-on as well.

Should have had a closer look.....
-The dash has a line going right across it... that's '84 only.
-The dash is made of very soft plastic/foam... that's also very different from the newer kind.
-The switches on the gauge panel are also very unique... slightly different style that is apparant when placed side by side...
-The original '84 difflock switch is a pull type just like the '83... but made to fit the newer style dash...
-The window switches were also different and looked more like the '83 with arrows.
I think that's all for now class...

Engine Guages in place of the radio/cass?
It looks like the oil pres, temp, and volt meter (I mistakenly said "coolant temp" in previous posts) are where my radio is now. Is that an original option? Does it have to do with the country that imported it? Everything else, except for the steering wheel of course, appears exactly as it is on my US 84 UrQ.
