Chuckles to himself.....
Ah, perhaps you should go for a ride around the track in my car. ET 1/4 mile - maybe 16 seconds if I'm lucky? On the track? Well, since you don't need to slow down, you don't need to speed up....

i see your point, no doubt. But being able to accelerate out of an apex does wonders.
I have tracked my cars too, plenty...SCCA regionals, etc.
I just want a car for the fun of dragging for a while. And I want it to be Audi.

Do you want the old URQ/CGT body style or the new Coupe Quattro body?
If you want to new body style I know of a CoupeQ with a 7A turbo in it. It is setup for rally, so it needs an interior if you want to have a road vehicle, but there are a few parts Coupes for sale now that you could put the two together if you want.
If you're interested contact me via email and I'll give you more details.

yeah that was a mistake, although i remember falling in love with the 90 style CQ
when they came out at a dealer in Boulder Colo.
My dad was buying a 100, and all I could look at and touch was that Coupe Quattro.
I would do one of those too, but there is also something in having that original SPort Quattro.
Anyway, it would be for racing either way...although not dirt rally. So I wouldnt need an interior...in fact, the lighter the better. Just a track car.

The V8 doesn't weigh much more - less than 100 lbs difference
because it's all aluminum. Check Motorgeek.com - there are plenty of V8 conversions, including two twin turbo V8s (one Coupe quattro) in type 89's. It does fit, and bolts right to the stock tranny.

Ok, then stupid question
You apparently have an S4. Why would any other audi be any better to drag race? I happen to know of a RS4 Avant clone that's pushing 550hp or so and doesn't lose very often....
