Just what I need more Stuff to cram in my garage. Something tells me I'm going to have a big time Garage sale soon to unload. Notice the bad *** mounting points for the subwing oil cooler. Too cool!

Its crossed my mind.
I might try to run an oilstat, aux. pump with lines and coolers but no sump reservior.
But weight, drag and complexity are telling me not to do it.

It would be cool to do, but if you're not going to rally the car, I'd skip it...
The only real reason it's back there is the protection factor. It can't get hurt on a hard landing/gravel stage if it's not under the car.
