what the hell is wrong with it
Its been sitting all evening, its around 50 outside. I go to start it, and all it does is click a bunch of times.
Finally after inspecting the wires and everything it decides to work (i touched nothing)
Then it fails to idle, even though i set the idle higher. It puts out some nasty fumy burning smell too, like its burning something old.

You might have a stuck or leaking cold start valve or injector/s. Sounds like fuel is pouring in from somewhere.
Also, vacuum leaks will cause it to smell rich.
Plus...check the sensor on the front of the head. If thats bad it may cause that problem too.
