Default The white '85 on ebay...

It is tempting, and is also one of the more "geographically desirable" and apparently clean Ur-Qs I have found so far since it is only about 6 hours drive away from me.

The allure of a good '85 is hard to resist. I'm a bit concerned about the older grill (?) and headlights though. Doess making that "right" for the model year require unobtainium parts, or do '85 CGT/4kq parts (grill, headlight bezels, etc.) fit????

My other concern is why the stuff in the front has been changed. I have to assume due to some kind of accident.

I have a call in to an LA area tech to do an inspection for me...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=6055& amp;item=2419444535</a

Default That car has been for sale for a while.

You might want to check the urq list achives on Audifans.com. Someone on the list drove the car and gave a report. From memory, it was reported that it did not feel particularly strong, and the suspension could use some work. They were asking $14k at the time I believe. YMMV.

The grill and headlights are correct. The grill is standard 4k/CGT, but the headlight trim pieces are the unobtainium '85 US ur q only parts.

Default That's like the forth time that car has been on ebay. Too bad nice urq...

...but $14 grand, that thing better be museum clean and run better than new for that kind of dough. I'd go $8500 if it's clean and runs a little rough (like stale gas in the tank or despreate need of a tune-up). If the posts form 3-4 months ago indicate maybe a problem not easily fixed (bad turbo or injectors, struts all the way around) maybe $6000. Pics make it look clean but pics hide alot as well. just my 2 pennies.

I found and read the post on the Audifans mail list on this car. I'm going to pass on it. It can be had for $10k according to the dealership it is at (he thought he did a BIN for $10k, but didn't). The other two (both '83s though) in my sights sound better to me at this point...

Thank you all for the comments!

Default Is one of those 83's that Helios Blue one for $8900?

That's a nice ride and a good price for a car with 50k on it.

Default Sort of. The guy who built my car used to work on that one...

...he lived in MA and it is really clean. If you want to talk to him email me private and I'll give you his email address.
