I am looking into a radar detector and would like some input on which has the best performance and is easiest to hardwire (cleanly). What's the best for the $$$

1. Escort Passport 9500i
2. Escort Passport 8500 x50
3. Valentine One

I had an Escort 8500 and the Laser went out after a year. Now I currently have the 8500x50 and the laser went out after a year (I really loved it when I honked my horn and the laser went off - you can turn off the laser). I think its a great radar detector that has worked very well and saved me from a bunch of tickets.

The two tickets I have gotten were a couple of cops using laser.

you really don't have much chance at avoiding a laser gun anyhow. The dash mounted units are very bad at detecting lasers since they are aimed at your front plate or headlights.

V-1 is the best dash mount for laser,K,Ka.Some Bel's (when they are working) may filter better.You will need time to get to know it. After time you will know as other V-1 owners know "Its the Best"
