Default Damn water heater

So I've known for sometime that my water heater was getting near the end of it's lifespan. But had been putting it off, finally on sunday, when the dishes in the dishwasher didn't come clean, it was decided to get a new one, and a new dishwasher.

Went to Home Depot and bought one arranged to have it installed through Home Depot. On monday the plumber showed up at 2pm, had it installed, tested and was gone by 330. I got home monday night about 7pm, and noticed water running from our A/C drain on the side of the house. Went to check on the source and found water in the catch pan under the water tank, on the tank, etc. So after taking our showers I had to turn off the water.

THis morning, at 6:30 the plumber from Home Depot came out, we determined that the BRAND NEW GE Hot Water tank is leaking on the bottom. SO now I am waiting for the plumber being sent out by GE to handle their warrenty work. In the process, I ended up taking a day off from work.

Default that sucks. when GE came out to our place to do some warranty work..

they ended up making the problem worse. The came out to do warrenty work on our Dishwasher and they ended up breaking the water fitting behind the dishwasher. Instead of telling us and replaceing it they wrapped it in electrical tape and stuffed the dishwasher back under the counter and said everythign was set. 7 days later GE was paying to replace the dishwasher, the lenolium, and have the plywood underneath treated for potential mold issues they created.

SO be careful and make sure they do it right while they are there.
