Default Feeler: Summer G2G - Drive Followed by BBQ at Washington Park

For those who frequent other forums you should see this message popping up other places.

This is a feeler for something me and Fernando (E46325ci from bimmerforums ) have semi-planned so far. We'll be looking at some possible routes for a drive this sunday. We were just seeing if this is worth our effort.

Who: us Bimmer guys and all other automotive enthusiasts (Audi, VW, etc.)

When: June 25th, 2005

What: A fun drive through a route yet to be determined by me and Fernando followed by driving back to Washingtion Park for a BBQ where we can all shoot the ****.

Where: an intial meeting area before Various fun roads, then to Washington Park

Why: because its been quite boring here in CO

Now for the reason i made this thread....
having a BBQ means we will need to buy some essentials like meat and buns and drinks etc,

Would you guys be willing to spend say maybe $5 to help contribute towards the cost of the above?

let us know what you think guys

Default A couple things...

June 25 is the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and June 26 is Dubs Along the Rockies. Meaning people may be gone for the weekend or spending Saturday prepping their cars for the big show on the 26th (or both).

Also, while I do enjoy Wash Park the parking there leaves something to be desired and if you have more than a handful of cars it may be difficult to park at...the park.

In the past there have been events at City Park (by the zoo) plus there tends to be more parking. I think you can actually reserve a section of the park or something like that. Of course no real eye candy like you get at Wash Park.

Default Good Points...

Good points that you bring up. We'll probably stand by this date for now, and judging on interest we may change the date accordingly. This thread has been cross posted to about every other regional forum possible (euro related).

So we'll see how much interest is expressed and go from there. Thanks for the heads up on the other events and dates!

Default UPDATE!...

Update, we will plan on meeting somewhere at or around Red Rocks for a photo shoot then driving up Deer Creek Canyon and returning to Clement Park for the BBQ. BBQ food will be from Brothers BBQ. For those of you not familiar they have awesome food and win a bunch of awards.

The route is tentative right now and will be double checked this weekend. Mapquest directions will be provided to all as long as you have a working email.

We really want to incoorperate some Audi guys and the whole euro community. Currently we have an M5, a couple M3s and a couple other 3 series. Keep in mind this is within 24hrs.

I'd be willing - would prefer WashPark too - live close... happy to throw in $ if I make it.

Default Sunday June 26 is Dubs Along the Rockies

which is actually a more difficult date for Audi and VW owners.

Default Meet Moved to July 10th....

Since there is so much going stuff going on the weekend we planned, we've decided to bump up the date so we can incoorperate everyone.
