Flat tire (help)
I need help here from the forum. I recently had a rear blowout in my 98 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. I had a nail that punctured the inner sidewall, so a new tire is needed. Will having one new tire on the car affect the quattro system? With having more tread on the tire?

Yes it will
Tire rack and most other suppliers will shave a tire down to match tread depth however.
If you run a different tire or a tire with more then 2/32nds difference *Audi says* it's bad for the differetial...
What kind/size of tire? maybe someone has one that would work for you?

Saying you have only driven 15K doesn't help
my tires are almost always nearly bald after 15K. (maybe they take after me ;-) )
Anyway, take a penny, stick it in the tread so Abe's head is into the grove, snap a pic for us. using that as a reference we (collectively) can estimate how much tread you have left. then when you get a new one either buy used with similar tread depth, or have a new one shaved to the same depth.
