(OT) Anybody here live in Nederland? Thinking about making an offer on a property...

Would be my first home. Moved down from Summit County last year, miss the mountains terribly, but need to stay in the front range to work... Working in Louisville, girlfriend works in Boulder. I've spent some time up there and like it so far, but I was wondering if anyone has the inside scoop.
Property is .5 miles from town up on the south hill overlooking the reservoir. Has a potential rental detached studio.
Price is right, so the only thing keeping me from hitting the big red button is that I don't know what people don't want you to know about Ned (besides all the dirty hippies). Anyone have any opinions (lol)?
Thanks!

Neds OK and you can take a bus into Boulder
I'd love to live up there for a couple of year, but wife will never go for it. Small town vibe compared to Summit County from what I've heard, but if you keep to yourself that won't bug you.

Don't know -- haven't met any of the sellers
There are a couple on Linden and one off that road (the first left intersection) that backs up to Sanitas. I liked one off that road quite a bit -- the closest we could possibly be to town. Great views plus surrounded by nicer million dollar homes and a couple of minutes walk to Sanitas trails... but wife still thought it was too much winter-drive wise and shuttling our daughter around. There were some further up Linden in the $500K range maybe lower.

Making that daily drive is going to suck.
If you do things in Boulder or anywhere outside of Ned, keep in mind that you are going to be doing that drive all the time. I have plenty of friends who moved up there to be in the mountains only to move back down to town as they got so sick of the drive. With gas prices where they are now, that is going to be a healthy monthly bill.
