...that apparently is causing a low-level "harmonic resonance" sort of noise while the car is underway (especially noticeable when "coasting"). FYI, it's not the tires (the noise was present before and after new tires).

Separate from the above, car went into the dealer this morning when it refused to stick out its little tongue to release the hood latch. Seems the tongue was jammed against the side of the grill opening. I tried needle-nose pliers, but without luck. Get this: The "part" involved in this repair is...the entire grill!! (Due in tomorrow...thank you McGrath Audi!)

While I had the car in, I reported the "harmonic resonance" issue to the RS6 technician. They called back later with a firm diagnosis. Guess the part they'll replace...FIRST CORRECT guess wins the poster.

I know this probably isn't right because replacing it with another wouldn't help, but it's all I could think of. I certainly get a bothersome harmonic resonance when the roof is open and windows are closed, tho -- at certain speeds.
