Default Has anyone obtained Euro parts to convert battery to spare well?

I searched the forum and while there wsd a llot of talk about the battery i the trunk, I did not find any reference to anyone actually changing the location of the battery to the european location in the spare tire well. Has anyone actually done it? It would seem pretty straight forward and I would think you can get the parts sent over here. Anyone know of dealers that have done it? Cost? Thanks

Default Euro cars have tire pressure monitoring sys and run-flat tires - U.S. cars don't have either ...

... so not practical IMO

Default My dealer offered but I declined. Still, maybe they can help

Audi of Rochester Hills (MI), who sold me the car, knew there was dissatisfaction (including me) over the trunk battery placement for US cars, which came as a surprise shortly before delivery. So they offered to put mine in the spare tire well. I didn't take them up on it, tho, because I do enough driving in remote areas that I didn't want to risk being stuck without a spare. So I don't know how they would have done it, but you might want to call & ask if no one else here offers the help you want.

Thanks for the info. That tells me that if you want to, you can probably do it through a dealer, and in any case the parts are available. I have been thinking of trading up to an RS6 but the battery has always been a stumbling block, as I like the ability to haul a lot of stuff if I need to. No spare is more of an issue without the pressure monitoring system, but it can be done.

Default I don't believe you can ...

because the well is not empty, it has a raised section which contains some kind of fuel system related carbon or air filter that the euro models do not.. the battery is too large for the space...
