RS6 Avant about to appear in U.S. (kind of)....
Chatted y'day with a guy I know from a club I belong to...he asked me how I liked my RS6, as he bought one a few months ago and is having it converted into an Avant - he had only driven it from the dealer to the conversion shop!

believe me it's alot harder than you think, i know i'm in the process of....
trying that route myself. the shop that i'm working with was trying in vain to get an rs6 motor and a special order manual tranny from europe. wrecked rs6's are abundant in europe, it's just kind of a pipe dream to get the parts you need. that's what i have, a pipe dream. this guy whos converting his rs to an avant is full o crap. you will need a donor s6 for the body, not to mention all the body work, tranny work, engine work , work on your head because you have a constant migrane, etc. the import route would be easier, expensive to the tune of 130k but you would be one of 4 in the usa.

Who owns the other 3? How did they get in and
what's the price? Are any in CA?
I'd love to know who has them and what they went through, and of course, give them my phone # for when they sell...
