10K Miles: 3 windshields, 2 police stops, 8 qts of oil and 1 set of brake pads
Here's my 10K report:
Thus far, I've replaced two windshields...for a total of three pieces of glass residing in that rock-magnet of a hole. Never had a car so susceptible to breakage.
1 oil change plus a quart every 1000-1500 miles.
One tire rotation, tires still have 60% tread life, since I haven't tracked the car.
Brake pads are pretty much toast up front. New ones in process.
Thus far, the car definitely feels faster now that she's fully broken in.
I can tell that I'm getting down to the nitty gritty on my clutch but other than that, the car has been without noticeable faults.
Ways Audi can improve the RS4:
Interior upgrades...we're paying twice as much for our RS4's as the A4's, how bout giving us a super duper killer interior devoid of plastic?
Grippier tires as OE;
The Euro steering wheel;
The Nav system needs to be more intuitive to use;
Euro seats, maybe as part of a club racer edition;
IPod hookup needs to be standard;
Other than easily consumed brakes and oil, I have no major complaints or issues.
Would I buy another one? What's next for me? Probably another Porsche Turbo

I had this done to my windshield...
Probably just Rain-X that costs $400 but they do replace windshields free for the life of the car. I know someone on their 3rd free windshield.

http://www.diamondfusion.co.nz/</a

A couple of questions....
I called this company when I first read your post on the solution. They wanted 700 dollars for this so I guess you got a deal.
I watched/read all their material on their application. But how has it performed now that you've had it for awhile. Do you know how easy it was to obtain the replacement glass when he filed a claim?
Obviously here in Southern California weather is not much of a factor, we got a whole 4 inches of water this year.
Thanks much.

A few answers...
Now that you mention it, I probably did get a "deal." I went directly through the installer and you typically have to purchase it through an auto dealer. I probably should not post all the details so my installer does not get in any trouble but if you have questions, email me.
On my Range Rover I paid $400 for the treatment and warranty since it has a heated windshield. On my RS4, I just gave the guy $100 and he treated the windshield but it is unregistered and non-warrantied. I posted about the $400 because I assumed that was the full price.
The whole process looked like a scam. They clean the windshield, spray some crap on it and then treat it with "vapor" which looks somewhat like almost nothing. There are a couple of different chemicals they used and they were shown to me.
Both cars are about a year out and the windshield still repels water but probably no better or worse than if you use Rain-X every couple months. There are minor gravel chips in both windshields, but it seems like the windshields are holding up better than with previous vehicles - I realize this is far from scientific.
The person I know that needed replacement glass had zero problems getting it.

I know, I know my ideas are radical to some but my wish for this car would be...
A light weight track sport version a la GT3.
Better brakes, no DRC, lots of weight reduction so the car would weigh in at no more than 3400-3500 lbs and a rear LSD.
