3rd and 4th gear issues....
Anyone know the reason/ cause on why it is 10 times harder all of a sudden to shift into 3rd and 4th gear... If I am driving along spirited lets say to like 5k and throw in from 2nd to 3rd the resistance is 10 times what it is to put from 1st into 2nd... same goes from 3rd to 4th, I have to yank it down its not fluid... the throw from 4th to 5th is easy... Sh*t this car is just one thing after another it seems... Any thoughts??

Have you tried redline transmission fluid? I use to have some issues getting into 3rd and that took care of it. But I can't recall having an issue getting into 4th as well.

+1. If the transmission fluid hasn't been changed (close to recommended maintenance), I would do that first before anything else.
Sometimes things come up that seem related to one thing (i.e. the engine rebuild) but actually aren't. Hopefully it's something simple as that and you'll have no more worries...

If your having issues now, then I would change the fluid to see if that's a cheap fix for you. Don't really see how it can hurt since your out of warranty anyway.

I just spoke with JHM and they told me to bleed the lines again... i guess that kind of makes sense because if there was a little air trapped in the system then it would be harder for the pressure plate to disengage, I will keep everyone posted...

Deftly need to put the REDLINE gear oil in! I had the same issue going into 3rd it was like a lil crunch...my dealer actually recommended REDLINE...and most people we shocked...but its a very aftermarket friendly dealership. Yes even I was surprised other places told me lifetime fluid on the tranny...I don't believe in any fluids being lifetime personally. Audi also recommends lifetime fuel filter....I will be changing that soon too....One Audi mechanic basically explained to me that in Europe..they only keep cars a max of 5 years...so to them 5 years is lifetime lol. So for us we keep cars much longer..and have much worse gas...so yeah I'll be changing that fuel filter..LOL
