Airbox deflapping question....

Airbox deflapping question....
So i've been reading old threads about deflapping the airbox and think i wanna give it a shot. The one thing i can't definitively seem to find out is if it can be done w/o removing the front bumper. For me that would shelve this little project in a hurry. Any comentary from the (experienced) peanut gallery?
Thanks!

And neither is easy, but if you're willing to get rough with your air box, it CAN be pulled out from above, but it requires some muscle. If you also remove the horn as others have suggested, the airbox will go back in MUCH easier.
The theoretical advantage of removing the horn is that colder air might be drawn in, others think that the horn is integral to good flow dynamics and leave it attached.
I removed the bumper to do the clear-corners at the same time. My horn is still attached to the airbox but the flap is gone. BTW, forum guys on the other side of the pond think we're all nuts for pulling the flap.

That was easy, chewed the crap out of the retaining clip b/c it just wasnt cooperating, broke 2 hose clips and cant find the flashlight i was using. Tried to get it back in with the horn for about 2 secs and gave up on that. Not entirely sure the airbox cover over the filter is completely on but was running out of knuckles to skin. All in all a rousing success. Looking forward to using my 4 hp to crush lambos.

Sorry, to be honest with you, when I tried to pull it out from the top...
it just required way too much muscle, and I didn't want to break anything so it was on to Plan B (bumper removal). Others here can help I'm sure.
