Default Any US Domestic vehicles exceeded break-in period?

I'm dying for a "good" write-up on a post-break-in (i.e., after the requisite 600 or 1,000 miles) driving experience, with hills, cornering, heavy braking, a M3 or Porsche kill, and strippers, of course.

I was referring to exceeding the miles (after break-in period), not exceeding break-in limits

Default My car is almost 100% broken in, but I don't even have it right now.....

either a week before Waterfest or 2 weeks after I will be taking a drive up to Bear Mountain to really get a feel for the car.

As for a kill story, the only one I have from my drive was my RS4 vs E36 M3. Not really a kill, b/c the E36 didn't have a chance, but it was funny to see him hit the gas and I would just slowly get on it in 5th and walk on him.

As soon as I get my car back a local friend with a fully loaded B6 S4 and I are going to do some runs on video.

That's excellent!! where did you order it that you had to tape off the front end to bring it home?

I ordered in NY, but my dealer messed up. I ended up getting it from Coral Gables, Fl.

Default The truth is out there.

You can believe what you want. But until someone shows 'proof" that this technique is detrimental to the life of the engine or shows evidence or documentation that I does not work or caused problems , I will continue to be a disciple. BTW, I know of no S4 owner that has followed that technique that has reported oil consumption issues or has wished that they had broken the car in using a different method. Obviously there could be someone out there, but I am not aware of them. It would be rare.
