Anybody know if the WPX option still includes the CD Changer
I just placed my order for a 2008 RS 4 on Thursday and chose the WPX option based on the wording "Same as WIP, but with glove box iPod interface". After reading some other excerpts on the web I know fear that WPX deletes the CD changer for the iPod interface. I don't need the iPod interface (2 SD card slots meet my needs), but thought if there was no extra cost, I would get it for the future. I just don't want to loose the CD changer in this case. If so then I will get my order changed to WIP instead.
Anyone know for sure if WPX still includes the CD changer?

My dealer says for 2008 you get both...
the iPod and CD changer in the WPX. This is just like the A8, Q7, A6, in which you get both.
With all 2007 RS4s, you had to disconnect both the satellite radio and the CD changer to install the iPod interface - hence the confusion.

That would be too good to be true.
Unless Audi has secretly developed a new iPod interface (which would technically be possible with the RNS-E and the II+ generation of radios), I would rather change the order or make you dealer confirm in writing that your car will come with both (with no excuse that it's just an error on the order list).
The MMI in the A6/A8/Q7 is a complete different system and so far any iPod adapter for non-MMI head units was using the only available audio input, the CD changer connector. I really hope that this is true because that would mean that there is some progress and a chance that Audi is developing an AMI like device for the RNS-E and II+ generation head units. This would allow an iPod integration like they did integrate SAT radio, with full text support and a user interface similar to the iPod UI.
