Default Anyone consider this?

www.eurogearusa.com has a pretty cheap carbon fiber hood for the b7 A4. Any thoughts? The hood comes without the hood pins, which are added as an option.

Think its much lighter than the stock aluminum one? You want unpainted or painted?

Default cheap carbon hoods are usually heavy from the fiberglass backing/support

I.E they aren't full carbon, just a carbon sheet on the outside to make it look pretty

Default

Probably saves less than 10 pounds and looks out of place on the RS4

Default I agree, but I guess I'm getting bored waiting for my car to get back.

I have the CF front splitter by RSquattro waiting at home, and I just came across this on the net.

Default Is the CF splitter 100% carbon or just covered?...

The reason I ask is b/c I'm thinking of having mine covered and wanted to know how it would look.

Default it was

200 euros or conversion is x 1.6 so $320, the rear upper bumper part is also 200 euros, engine cover is 300 euros, and doors sills are 400 euros. Shipping is 30 euros for 1+ items. I'm actually thinking of getting the engine cover. The parts are high quality but there are some imperfections, but not really noticeably. I think it is due to the low volume of carbon parts made.

Default I can shed some light on this subject because I have one from Eurogear...

There are two version of the hood available (at least for the B6). The normal or standard one (cheaper) does have a fiberglass backing/support.

However if you pay extra (IIRC ~ $250) you get a full CF hood and mine weighed in at about 16 or 17 lbs.
