Default Audi OEM steering wheel options other than euro RS4 wheel?

I'd like to switch my stock wheel out for one of the Audi flat bottomed wheels. By now there should be some other options for us? How about the R8 or new TT wheel? Looks like you may be able to keep all of your functions with those wheels, scroll wheels, mode and voice button are on those wheels right?

I wish my stock wheel was maybe 1" in diameter smaller and I wouldn't be wondering about this.

Default Some answers...

The TT and R8 wheels are the same and both use different airbags then the US RS4 or Euro RS4 (even though it looks like the same one).

The only negatives to the TT and R8 wheels is that they are no thicker then the stock RS4 wheel and the airbag wasn't designed for the RS4.

So, if you want a smaller diameter, flat bottom, radio/phone control capable phone

I'm assuming that the stock RS4 airbag wouldn't fit nor work in the cavity of the R8/TT wheel?

Default Correct due to the face of the airbag, however...

I've always wanted to try taking the face of the airbag off to see if that is the only thing preventing it from working.

Regardless you would need the correct face that goes with the TT/R8 wheel which means you will need to purchase a second airbag regardless.

Default Must have something to do with the size and contour of the bag in relation to the interior.

It's never easy is it?

So if you buy a TT/R8 steering wheel and the appropriate airbag for that steering wheel, could the entire assembly just plug right in?
